In this video I go over some of the basics when it comes to comparing a ported enclosure to a sealed one. Both of their own set of unique characteristics and they should be taken into account when building a sound system, in order to achieve the type of sound you're going after. One is not better than the other, you just need to know the application and what you're trying to achieve. Sealed enclosures are definitely better when space is at a premium and you're trying to hit a variety of frequencies easily. Sealed does require more power to run though however, because the air inside helps act as a suspension it also adds resistance. So make sure you have a good amplifier hooked up. Ported/ vented enclosures are a more efficient design when it comes to bass output.
