St. Joseph, MO (2015)-Responding to the community's recent lack of driver's education classes, a new class offered by St. Joseph Safety and Health Council during the summer of 2015 taught young drivers defensive driving. Student, Arianna Davis Williams, and teacher, Sheldon Lyon, talk about the course that focused on wearing seat belts, avoiding driving distractions, and driving defensively. St. Joseph Safety and Health Council is a United Way Partner Agency. NOTE: While this was a new program in 2015, in a related program of theirs, 1,161 high school students pledged not to drink and drive in 2014 thanks to United Way of Greater St. Joseph donors.
