I observed a cornea scrape yesterday and thought it was amazing. The purpose of this scrape was to remove the "gel" that was causing the patient to have blurry vision. This whole procedure took about 5 minutes. Following this procedure, a contact lens is placed on the cornea to protect it until it heals. Basically painless and fast recovery...about one full day of rest, with prescription optical antibiotics for 10 days.
