"SiLowLeetSa" (Doralee Sanchez), a prominent artist and educator from the Lummi Nation in Washington State opened her new gallery Coast Salish Creations in Bellingham on Saturday December 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with music, food, artist demonstrations and an opening prayer to bless her new business venture. The gallery is located at 424 W. Bakerview Road #102. Sanchez hopes that the gallery will be a center in the community for teaching both Native and non-Native people, especially kids, about Northwest tribal art and culture. The gallery will offer regular classes in cedar weaving and more. For more information visit http://unclepauliesworld.blogspot.com or call the gallery at 360-922-7902.
