Climbing A Water Tower To Remove Antennas - 42Fab Extra

Published on Aug. 2, 2017

Last weekend I took Saturday off work to help my father remove some antennas from a water tower he no longer contracts with for his business. Prior to removal, these antennas provided High Speed Internet service to the surrounding 450 or so square miles of rural Oklahoma. While it's certainly hard and dangerous work, the views and unique experience make it worth it. Oh, and helping out your Old Man too! For the Safety Folks: I am wearing a Lineman's Belt with Lashings secured to D-rings around my midsection (similar color to shirt). I was only ever unbelted while sitting on the top of the tower to change anchor points. Oklahoma wind is strong, but not THAT strong.
